Chemisorption - Physisorption Analyzer

The Autosorb™-iQ-C, one of the Autosorb iQ Series, is capable of these functions:

  • Surface area analysis
  • Mesopore size distribution
  • Standard micropore methods
  • Advanced low pressure micropore analysis
  • Kinetic studies
  • Chemisorption methods
  • Very low surface area analysis with krypton
  • Sample preparation by high vacuum
  • Built-in 5-gas chemisorption system, option of further 7 gas lines
  • Sample preparation/activation by gas flow

Unattended chemisorption measurement with automatic transfer from sample preparation to analysis and with small bench-space requirements. Automatic repeat measurement of isotherm following evacuation provides complete weak and strong chemisorption data without operator intervention.

Sample preparation with flow, vacuum or static conditions under programmable heating rates at temperatures up to 1,100°C. PC programmable temperature controller with auto-tuning functions offers limitless number of preparation routines with guaranteed temperature accuracy.

Applications include characterization of metal dispersion of reforming catalysts, acid site distribution of polymerization catalysts, crystallite size of hydrogenation catalysts, heats of adsorption and much more.

Compatible with a broad range of gases and vapors including hydrogen, carbon monoxide, ammonia and cyclohexane.

Autosorb iQ-XR
By employing a 0.1 torr transducer in place of the standard 1 torr transducer, the low pressure physisorption capability of Autosorb-iQ-C is extended down to the 10-8 P/Po range.

The 0.1 torr transducer is internally heated for improved stability and reproducibility. The sensitivity and resolution of the new optional 0.1 torr transducer is ten times that of the standard 1 torr transducer at relative pressures below 1 x 10-4 P/Po.

Autosorb iQC-TPX
The TPX version of the Autosorb-iQ-C has a fully integrated control system that can interface with a close-coupled mass spectrometer without the need for a separate vacuum system.

The fully automated unit allows scientists to take advantage of multiple techniques using a single instrument less than 80 cm wide, saving bench space and budget.
